During May I’ll be at the Blender Institute Amsterdam, working on what’s going to be the 4th Training DVD by the Blender Foundation, and the very first one made in native Spanish!, of course with full subtitles/navigation in english as well.
The main topic for the DVD will be….. venomgfx! :c
I’ve been always in love with cartoon, since I started with 3D I’ve been creating characters and scenes just for fun, and specially to learn. But that was 7 years ago.. so nowadays, with all this little “Zoo” I have, I would like to take advantage of it and re-make some of my most beloved characters, using the huge army of new tools that now Blender has.
Anyways, why would I make a whole new character for the DVD, when I already have quite a few characters gathering dust on my HD, that could use a re-make to be up-to-date with new Blender stuff, let’s release them! freedom! .tux
The DVD will cover topics such as:
- Modeling.
- Shading – Materials, Textures Maps, Nodes (both Material and Texture Nodes).
- Something I’ve been asked for: “Good Cartoony eyes!”.
- Texture baking.
- Sculpt Mode.
- Particles (hair, grass, etc).
- Lighting. (Ambient Occlusion, Lamps, etc..)
- Compositing!, Nodes, RenderLayers, Passes. Effects.
- well..all that you see in my works..
For example, all the wrinkles on Zanno could be sculpted, and I bet that Antonio’s and Fraka’s hair would look LOT better with the new particles system. 
This DVD, like any other Training DVD from the Blender Foundation, will be released as Open Content, under the Creative Commons (Attribution) license, which basically means you can do whatever you want with the files, as long as you give proper credit to the original author.
So, not only the documentation about how the characters and scenes were made is going to be free (as in freedom), but also the characters and scenes will be free as well!
Worth to say that all the sales from this and other DVDs, go directly to the Blender Foundation, to support projects like this, and Open Movies, Open Games, and so on, as well as supporting Blender’s constant development itself.

Esta es la mejor noticia, bueno esta y q pablo lizardo diera señales de vida, q tuve despues de pasar dos interminables dias en el hospital por un colico intestinal :c no te explico lo q duele. Esto es genial, soñaba conq saliera otro DVD de estos y q fuera echo por vos ni hablar!!!
Como hago para q llegue a rio cuarto, cordoba Argentina?? jajaja Che te deseo mucha suerte, mantenenos informados de los avances.

El DVD así como cualquier otro se pedirá mediante el e-Shop, y se enviará desde el Blender Institute como los DVDs anteriores, es muy probable que hasta lo empaque yo mismo

Che venom buenisima la noticia!, de seguro va a estar de 10 el dvd! y – sin desmerecer los otros open workshops (asi se decian?) – este va a ser el mejorcito, o al menos asi sera para los que les gusta la cosa divertida y deforme que tiene el cartoon ;P

En cuanto al nombre, pues si el DVD esta en Español no le veo sentido a que el nombre esté en Ingles

En cuanto al DVD, si bien el audio será en español, tendrá subtitulos en ingles. Pero estoy buscando algo que sea neutro y entendible en ambos idiomas, así que no hay problema

Definitivamente, quiero uno. Y ya que no vas a venir a Còrdoba (UFAAAA!!) lo voy a buscar a baires para tenerlo en mano, si???? Loco, te felicito, y te comento asì como quien no quiere la cosa que en clase muestro algunas cositas tuyas, doy la dire del blog, y comento que sos muy grosoooooo!!!
