yo!!, before all, I want to apologize about the 3 weeks down site, just in time when starting in Apricot and when the Making Of Swim Merlin Swim is featured in Blendernation, couldnt be more opportune!, had some problems with the domain.. it expired and.. long story.
Neverthless, while the site was down, I was having my firsts days in Amsterdam, and the Blender Institute, having a great time in this experience that I still don’t believe i’m going through, it is the friggin’ Blenderhead’s paradise!, beyond the beauty and peace of this place, the Blender Institute is the one that brings the real magic here.
What a Blenderhead does in a regular day?, besides reading the logs to stay up-to-date, read BlenderNation, and chat in IRC with the guys, compile or download a new/experimental build from GraphicAll for testing/research purposes, ah! and eat and go out for a walk. Besides that, put your time in Blending whatever comes to your head first, and work, too.
. Let’s suppose taht this “working” task involves Blender, and about the eating part, it also implies to share lunch with people even more blender addicted than you, hand the bread and butter to Ton Roosendaal himself!, after that go back to work, and the fact that reporting bugs is no more than walking a few steps or just yell “Caampbeeell!!!”, go for a walk or to buy dinner talking with someone involved in the same Blender project, then go home and the same again, and once in the bed, read the blender related books that you can find in the institute. Ahh… yep, the whole day
Isn’t.. too much?, and I didn’t even mention Big Buck Bunny’s Premiere!, there were even more people to talk about Blender!, and meet them in person, in fact I had the opportunity to know elubie (coder, image browser), macouno (old pal and partner of GraphicAll and PasteAll), and even Bart Veldhuizen from BlenderNation!.
SOo.. before coming here I always thought that since I’m from soooo far away, the first time being in europe I would be amazed by the beauty of the city and the old continent, but i definitely had a much better impression for the Institute itself and its people, and the awesome mood you can feel here, you *really* feel like home, even with my crappy english! wich I thought it would be a big stop, but it wasn’t at all, oh.. i think they are patient enough to try to understand me ![]()

Here is a picture of my actual work spot in the institute, with markers and all!, specially the fact that the place where i’m right now is where Andy was (lets see if i can take some of his magic from here : ), and the pc i’m using is the one that Enrico used!, so much talent around, big responsability!
That’s it!, cheers.
P.S: ah! finally updated to WordPress 2.5.1, it was lot easier than i thought, however, if you see something wrong don’t hesitate in telling me, thanks!
P.S2: yay! they let me put my hands on the Apricot website, and i really screwed up!
